Postcard from… Semuc Champey

I have jungle fever. Currently on an epic two-day journey from Guatemala to Mexico via Belize, I am still in awe of the few days we have just spent in Lanquin, a remote village in the Guatemalan jungle. Semuc Champey Guatemala

There was river tubing, watching the sunset behind the mountains from the infinity pool at Zephyr Lodge, and day trips to Semuc Champey, where we spent hours exploring a pitch black underwater cave by candlelight, jumping down waterfalls, and swimming in the natural limestone pools over the Cahabón River.

It was an adventure! At times terrifying, but mostly incredible fun. Some photos from the few days in the jungle are on Instagram, and I’ll be reliving the tales in details here in the coming weeks.
